Theme- Monsters

Section 1-
My theme is monsters and I intend to create a comic series or a book of short stories to do with my own made up creatures aimed at young adults 16+. My idea was inspired by Unit 78, I have gotten better at using art programs on the computer as well as putting concept sheets together. I also gained a better understanding of story telling from unit 82, however I will not be working on anything 3D.

Section 2-
I will first be researching pre-existing fairy tales through google or books like "My Big Book of Fairy Tales", as well as comic books such as "Telling Tales" and "Drop dead monstrous", Just to help develop my own stories as well as designing character personality etc. I will also be looking into animals, as most monsters are usually described as animals,such as books about certain species like "Scary Creatures Hyenas". To help me learn to layout my own story I will research different types of comics like Japanese manga "Grand Guignol Orchestra", comics such as "The Walking Dead" and comic strips. I will also look into movies like "Princess Mononoke", cartoons and books like "The Enemy Series" for more ideas for stories and/or character designs. I will need to continue my research into anatomy by life drawing, as this will help towards the concept sheets.

Section 3-
I will mainly be using paper and black pens/fine liners in terms of the comic, it will then be cleaned up, coloured, and adjusted using Adobe Photoshop. The front cover and concept sheets I am considering using water colours, acrylic paints and then once again edited on Photoshop. The title will be added on adobe illustrator to keep it clean and easy to read. I have 2 months (8 weeks) from start to finish, Research will take approximately two weeks, Character design and story write ups will be for the next 2 weeks, and I will prioritise the most time to drawing and editing the comic for the remainder of the month.

Section 4-

I plan to analyse each idea and drawing I produce, explain how I could have done better and what are the strengths, this will intern show what I can improve upon, For this I will be taking colour, shape, sizes and positioning into account. I will also be asking the group what they may think of some designs
