Marcel did this piece of work as a way of getting back at the exhibition because of the idea of anyone having their pieces displayed, he argued his case but soon decided to push the limits.
his 'fountain' is a over turned urinal, the shape of which has been described as feminine once turned as it is a sort of curvy or 'pear shaped', R. Mutt is the fictional name of his 'female friend' who sent him the porcelain urinal.

I really like the automatical way of making these work, the subconscious mind taking over the conscious, they look simple but are oddly complex, once again a superb surreal (strange) feel.
