He first draws on the canvas with charcoal before working a small amount of paint in, then adding more as he goes so that no patch is ever the same.
Here are my studies of making the skin, this was also my first attempt at doing it without a pencil outline so it is a bit out of shape, but apart from that I can almost fully understand her technique, though i do not think i will use this way of painting for my final piece it did give me an idea of where exactly i wanted to go, and that was to focus on heavy outlines, and bright faces, i will need to keep looking but here are some other artists i have found.

All I could find about her work is that it is oil on canvas, she starts out with the darker tones and then goes over with lighter, certain things are left out till the end to get the most contrast I.E. Eyes

smooth or soft colour changes, I can see a mixture of colours blended to make the skin tone, it is nice to look at.

subtle outlines, doing their best not to blend the brush strokes, it gives a textured effect
