Review in video art; Bill Viola

Silent life

Bill Viola has said that he had gotten this inspiration from the look on the newborns faces as they see light for the first time, and the thought that even though they see what we see, they do not know what they see because that is something to be learnt.

The Crossing

The Creator talked about how he and his brother and uncle went swimming, wearing rubber floats around their waist for safety, his brother jumped in and stayed a float without any trouble, however when he tried to dive in he slipped out of his float and sank to the bottom, and for a long time he would just stare up at the surface, unafraid, he said how beautiful it all was, he didn't even notice he was drowning until after a large hand reached out and grabbed his chest and pulled him out of the surface leaving him in a state of confusion.
