Artist: Sarah Lucas

Sarah has to be one of my favourite sculptures, her use of tights and house hold objects are odd but the whole feel of her is that she is fearless, or at least braver than me. The only way to explain it would be to comment on her work, so here it goes;

A giant penis sword in the middle of a show room, 'crushing' a car, this could be taken in a symbolistic way to show the male dominance present in the media, this i gathered from the image behind it as well.

Tights filled with plaster and then coated with bronze, it is abstract and really you could take it in a rude sense or just something unusual, its really your choice.

Her work is pretty much making the human form look basic or simplified, 'abstract' and 'surreal' are also words you could use to describe her work, it is also a fact she likes to incorporate puns into her work.

Born: 1962 in london, studied at the Working Mans College, London college of Printing, Goldsmiths College, and graduating with a Fine art degree
